Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all day Saturday from after morning Mass, ending with Benediction at 6 pm The church is open all day from dawn till dusk. Tea & coffee are served in the Garden Room after the 10 am Mass on Sunday. Sunday January 14th 2007 Second Sunday in Ordinary Time We begin the ordinary time of the year with a bang! Imagine the volume of wine in the first of the signs given by Jesus – 6 stone jars X 30 gallons = 180 gallons. That's about 818 litres of the best wine in town. Such is the magnanimity of Jesus; he never does things by half measures. He is always at full throttle when it comes to mercy, love, healing and difficult situations. We have a big-hearted Saviour. | ||||||

Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one of them had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall.
They weren't able to decide on who that one person should be, until the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and children and for men in general and was always used to making sacrifices with little in return. When she'd finished her speech, all the men started clapping!
The next Parish Lunch will be this coming Wednesday January 17th at 12 in the Garden Room. All are welcome.

God and Eve Dialogue
"Lord, I have a problem." "What's the problem, Eve?"
"I know you created me, provided this beautiful garden and all these wonderful animals, as well as that hilarious snake, but I'm just not happy."
"And why is that, Eve?"
"Lord, I'm very lonely and I'm sick to death of apples."
"Well, Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."
"Man? What is man, Lord?"
"A flawed creature. He'll lie, cheat and be vain. All in all, he'll give you a hard time. But he'll be bigger and faster than you and will like to hunt and kill things. I'll create him in such a way that he will satisfy your physical needs. He will be witless and will revel in childish things like fighting and kicking a ball about. He won't be as clever as you, so he'll need your advice to think properly."
"Sounds good" says Eve, with ironically raised eyebrows. "But what's the catch, Lord?"
"Well...you can have him on one condition."
"What's that, Lord?"
"As I said, he'll be proud, arrogant, self-admiring .... so you'll have to let him believe that I made him first. And that will have to be our little secret, you know, woman-to-woman."
